GOOGLE PAGERANK UPDATED FEBRUARY 2012
Google has updated page rank for some of the websites. I don’t see an update on all websites but I see it on a many of websites. Unlike before, Google does not update page ranks for all websites at once. Google tends to roll out updates slowly which might affect a few sites or lot of them. I think today’s update is for sites which are new and had a PR of 0. DailyBlogTricks had gotten page rank 2.
Here are some frequently asked questions regarding Google Page Rank.
What is Google Page Rank?
Google uses his own algorithm to assign a page rank to a website. A website can get a page rank from 0-10 where 10 is the best. Lot of people share ideas on what page rank is, they can get by doing various calculations like backlinks and content quality etc.
How Often Does Google Update Page Rank?
Generally google updates page rank once in 3 or 4 months or 3 or 4 times in a year.
How Can I Get a higher Page Rank?
Back Links from sites with higher page rank will give you a higher page rank. This is how it basically works but Google does look at other things as well. For example If Google finds out that you are buying links then you will not get benefited from those paid links. Also, back links from irrelevant sites, spammy sites, low quality sites etc. will not help you get a high page rank.
Does Zero or No back links means no Google Page Rank for me?
I have seen my websites get a page rank even without a single back link. This definitely means that Page Rank is not only about back linking. I have seen that websites which have constantly updated quality content do get Page Ranks up to 4 without a single back link.
No one links back to my site. What should I do?
I find this a bit funny. Google says you need to get links from relevant websites and most of the times relevant websites are our competitors. So why would they link back to our website? This is true so the best thing to do is keep writing quality content with some activities like:
- Quality directory submissions.
- Guest posts on other blogs which allow back links.
- Commenting on other blogs.
- Social bookmarking.
I did try a lot but Google does not give me a higher Page Rank, what should I do?
Stop bothering about Google page rank. Concentrate on updating your site with fresh and quality content everyday. Try and share information that is helpful for people and make it worth for them. Work on some On Page optimization and you can beat your competitors even if they have a higher page rank. If you are using WordPress, use themes like thesis or plugins like all in one seo to get the best On Page SEO results.
